Frequently Asked Questions
What size buildings are available?
All buildings are custom ordered and can be from 8′ – 60′ wide as well as up to 100′ long and from 6′ – 20′ high. The garage roll-up doors come in the following sizes: 6’x7′, 8’x7′, 8’x8′ , 9’x8′, 10’x8′, 10’x9′, 10’x10′, 12’x12′, 14’x14′ , 16’x16′ and 16’x18′ and also come in the Dutch Frame Style if desired.
What states do you install in?
We currently install in the following states: Massachusetts, New York (not NYC or Canada border), Maine (south of Bangor), Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia (not DC), West Virginia, North and South Carolina, and parts of Tennessee, Ohio and Georgia.
Do you offer financing?
We do offer rent to own financing in most states for buildings that are retailed at $20,000 and less. We also take certified bank checks or credit cards (with a processing fee if for the whole balance).
How is my building secured?
The base rails are secured by the following anchors depending on the surface you have: cement anchors are used for concrete slabs and mobile home anchors or rebar anchors are used for dirt, gravel and asphalt installations
Do you provide the concrete pad or slab that the garage sits on?
We do not provide any of the site preparation. This needs to be done in advance of your building being scheduled for delivery. We can install on these level surfaces: dirt, gravel, asphalt, crushed stone, cinderblocks or concrete. Installing on top of a wall 3 feet or taller is subject to an additional labor fee. If we have to level or correct your surface before the installation when we arrive, this will also incur an additional labor fee.
Do I need power on site for installation?
No power is needed for the installation but it is helpful to our crew when available if they need to charge a power tool or run a machine. If you have no electricity at your location please just let our sales team know so we can note that on your purchase order.
Can I order a building in the winter months?
We continue to take orders year round and offer our best pricing during the off season months. After you have made your down payment you lock in your price and have six months to complete your surface area. For example if you order your building in February you would have until July to complete your concrete or surface prep and taken off the hold list. If you are still not ready to move forward with the project in July then you will be subject to the current pricing at that time.
How long will it take for my building to arrive?
The lead time for your building begins when you have sent in a photo of your completed and level surface. From that point on installation can be anywhere from 4-18 weeks and depends on your state and the time of year and weather. Please note that this waiting time does not start when you place your order but when your order is taken off from being on ‘hold’ and moved to ‘ready’.
*If you need your building by a certain deadline please mention this before you place your order so we can see if it is possible*
Is it possible to change the size/colors of my building or add on an upgrade after I sign the purchase order and make the deposit?
Yes this is possible but it may have an additional cost (if you are adding an upgrade or getting a larger building) and should be done as soon as you know of a change. Once your building has been put on the schedule for delivery and installation it will no longer be possible to make changes.
Can I attach my building to my house or another structure on my property?
For all normal installations we request 3 feet of clearance on all sides to install the building and for this reason we are unable to attach the new structure to an existing structure.
Can I change the placement of an entry door or a window?
Yes you can change the placement of an entry door or window as long as it is in an open space where there is no leg (about every 4 feet). Also if you are on site when the crew arrives they will confirm with you on the placement of your doors and windows before they get started.
The building department wants plans for my permit, when do I receive those?
We provide the blueprints that are prepared by an engineer once we receive your purchase order and initial down payment. We also provide other documents the town may request like liability insurance and worker’s comp.
Can I put in my own entry door, window, or overhead door?
Yes, we can design the building with a space called a ‘frame-out’ of the exact size of your own chosen door or window. Frame outs can be up to 18 ft wide but also depend on the size and height of the building to determine what size is possible. After the installation of the building is complete you can then have your local overhead door company or contractor install your custom doors or windows.
Are there any other charges or additional fees?
The price of your building includes the installation as well as the blueprints/plans. Some unexpected fees that are possible are:
- An additional engineer fee if your town building department requires a different blueprint or more specific plans than our regular building package.
- If your surface is not completely level or the clearance needed is not available there is a fee on any additional labor.
- If your building is priced over $30,000 there is a freight fee for delivery.
- If your building is 15-20 ft tall or 32-60 ft wide, a LIFT rental is required during the day(s) of installation at your own expense.
Are the garage doors automatic?
The doors we provide are regular roll-up doors. It is possible to make them automatic but this is not a service we provide. Also once the doors have been altered in this way they lose the warranty (only on the doors, not the whole building).
Can I get a refund on my deposit?
If your town denies your variance or building permit we will issue a refund for your deposit provided you give us the denial letter from the city. This is rare as we try very hard to work with local building departments to get the documents they need to approve your building.
How secure is my personal information?
